When you use our contact form or newsletter signup, we collect your name and email address. Calculator inputs (usage, bill amounts) are processed in your browser and are not stored on our servers unless you explicitly save a comparison to an account. We automatically collect standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited for security and analytics purposes.
We use your data to respond to inquiries, send opt-in newsletters, improve our tools and content, and maintain platform security. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
We use strictly necessary cookies for authentication (login sessions) and a preference cookie to remember your dark/light mode choice. We do not use third-party advertising or retargeting cookies.
Passwords are hashed with bcrypt and never stored in plain text. Authentication uses short-lived JSON Web Tokens delivered via httpOnly cookies. While we take reasonable security measures, no system is 100% secure, and any data transmission is at your own risk.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing privacy@costcircuit.io. We will respond to verified requests within 30 days.
